Grand Valley State claimed an impressive 127-110 GLIAC road victory at Indianapolis on the heels of a Friday night home meet. GVSU will next be in action Friday (Jan. 25) at Hope College.
Alison Sante captured a pair of first-place finishes in diving. Sante notched a score of 208.87 on the 1-meter board, while her 201.29 score on the 3-meter board was also good enough for first. Sara Moore was second on the 1-meter (197.55) and 3-meter (184.45) boards. Katie Lawrie was second in the 1000 free (10:57.98) and third in the 500 free (5:21.91). Erin Kinney added a pair of second-place finishes in the 500 free (5:19.64) and 200 free (1:59.24). Jenna Thayer notched a first-place finish in the 200 fly (2:11.78), while Danielle Buglio touched first in the 200 back (2:11.44). Alison Scholz was second in the 50 free (24.99) and followed with a second in the 100 free (54.38).
Jamie Gomez turned in a second-place finish in the 200 back (2:15.88), while Alison VanKampen recorded a second-place finish in the 200 breast (2:34.75). GVSU added five additional third-place finishes, Katie Czirr in the 1000 free (11:08.06), Sam Stump in the 200 free (2:01.01), Kim Baughman in the 50 free (25.23), Erin Lynch in the 200 fly (2:14.81) and Shannon Morton in the 200 breast (2:35.04). In addition, GVSU recorded second and third-place finishes in the 400 free and medley relays. The Lakers touched in 3:42.85 and 3:44.40 in the free, while recording 4:05.31 and 4:11.62 times in the 400 medley relay.
