Final Stats

Detroit, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's swimming and diving team dropped a 147.5-93.5 decision at Wayne State. The Lakers will host Calvin College Friday at 6 p.m., before hitting the road again for a dual Saturday at Indianapolis (2 p.m.).

The Lakers opened with a win (4:02.74) and a third (4:09.44) in the 400 medley relay. Ashley Berish was third in the 1000 free (11:06.22), while Erin Kinney was third in the 200 free (1:59.58). Allison Scholz (24.95) touched just in front of Kim Baughman for a 1-2 finish in the 50 free. Jenna Thayer finished second (2:12.34) and Alison VanKampen third (2:14.61) in the 200 IM. Thayer added a second in the 200 fly (2:10.53), while Scholz was second in the 200 free (54.83). Danielle Buglio finished first in the 200 back (2:12.00), followed by Jamie Gomez in second (2:14.40). Sam Stump claimed second in the 200 breast (2:31.10), while Alison VanKampen was third (2:32.64). The Lakers finished the meet was a second (3:42.43) and a third (3:48.62) in the 400 free relay. Alison Sante added third-place finishes on both the 1-meter (208.55) and 3-meter diving boards (200.65).
