Wayne State scored first in game two, tallying a run in the top of the first inning. GVSU came back, however, and scored five runs on four hits and two Warriors errors in the bottom of the second inning. Freshman catcher Breanne Kronberg singled through the left side to start off the inning and advanced to second base as freshman left fielder Rebecca Plummer reached first base safely on an error by the short stop. Junior center fielder Lisa Preuss hit her second home run of the season to give the Lakers a 3-1 lead. One out later, junior right fielder Sarah Holland reached on a fielding error by the third basman, but then got out on a fielder's choice by sophomore short stop Nichole Woityra. Junior second baseman Kristin Moleski doubled to left field to move Woityra to third and both runs scored as senior first baseman Crista Buresh singled up the middle.

GVSU added its sixth run of the game in the bottom of the third inning. Plummer singled to center field to start off the inning and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Preuss walked and then the runners moved up to second and third on a ground out by sophomore third baseman Becky Rudenga. Holland singled to left field to bring in Plummer.

Wayne State added one run in each of the fifth and sixth innings, but GVSU added one more of its own in the bottom of the sixth to hang on to the 7-3 win. Woityra singled to center field and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Moleski. Buresh walked and then junior designated player Elizabeth Smith singled through the left side to added the seventh Laker run of the game.
