#38 Grand Valley State dropped a close, 6-3, decision to #22 Drury on Friday. The Lakers fall to 16-7 overall, while Drury improves to 7-4. GVSU will play Indianapolis on Saturday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. and IUPUI on Sunday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m.
Drury took four out of six of the singles matches and two out of three in doubles play to take the win. #25 Mouna Sabri defeated sophomore Lindsay Grimmer, 6-3, 6-2 at #1 singles. At #2 singles, junior Jenna Killips knocked off #44 Alejandra Miranda-Sanchez, 3-6, 7-6, 10-2 and in the #3 singles slot, sophomore Audrey Koopsen picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win. At #4 singles, Eva Hankova beat junior Emily Zellner, 6-4, 7-6 and Thu Mai defeated freshman McCall Monte, 7-5, 7-5 at #5 singles. Megan Blosser ended singles play with a 6-4, 6-4 win over freshman Whitney Bindus.
In #1 doubles action, Zellner and Grimmer defeated Miranda-Sanchez and Mai, 9-8. #18 Sabri and #18 Tryboi beat Koopsen and Monte, 9-7, at #2 doubles. In #3 doubles, Blosser and Hankova won, 8-1, against Killips and Bindus.
