Lakers Fall At DePauw

The GVSU women's tennis team dropped just its third match of the season on Saturday, falling to DePauw by a 6-3 count. DePauw took four of six singles matchups and two of three doubles on their way to victory. The Lakers now stand at 12-3 on the season. The Lakers will see action against Calvin College in a home match on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

Junior Jenna Killips notched a win in the No. 2 singles slot with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Greer Mackie. Audrey Koopsen picked up the other victory for Grand Valley, making quick work of Sallie Crawford, 6-1, 6-1. Lindsay Grimmer fell in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the top singles slot. McCall Monte also fell in a tough, three-set match by a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-1 score.

The team of McCall Monte and Audrey Koopsen recorded the only victory for the Lakers in doubles action, winning by a 9-7 count. Lindsay Grimmer and Emily Zellner fell 8-4 while the Jenna Killips and Jaime Oppenlander tandem fell 8-1.
