Final Stats
The Lakers recorded eight first place finishes en route to a 152-142 victory against Hope College.
Joel Overway earned a national qualifying score of 271.50 points to win the 1-meter dive. He also tacked on a third place finish in the 3-meter dive, recording 248.55 points.
Evan Betts won the 3-meter dive posting 283.12 points, and finished second in the 1-meter dive with 249.15 points.
Ryan Smith earned third place in the 3-meter dive (248.55 points), while Scott Klaasen earned third place in the 1-meter dive (240.30 points).
Justin Vasquez was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:58.94. He also won the 100-yard butterfly, completing the race in 53.12. Kyle Barrons tacked on a third place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 53.46.
Justin Barkel won both the 100-yard breastoke and the 200-yard breastroke. He finished the 100-yard breastoke in 1:00.24, and the 200-yard breastroke in 2:11.27. He also handed in a second place finish in the 200-yard IM (1:59.66).
Hans Hill tacked on a second place finish in the 100-yard breastroke (1:01.80) and a third place finish in the 200-yard breastoke (2:15.96). He added another third place finish, completing the 200-yard IM in 2:04.59.
Ryan Kraai won the 1000-yard freestyle for the Lakers racing to a finish of 10:14.46.
Matt Witkowski raced to a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, with a time of 1:47.99. Kyle Burgher followed, finishing second with a time of 1:48.33.
Kyle Burgher posted a second place in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 4:58.60. Matt Witkowski followed, finishing third with a time of 4:59.30. Witkowski also tacked on a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (48.47).
Paul Tansey handed in two third place finishes, posting a time of 2:03.20 in the 200-yard backstroke and 56.67 in the 100-yard backstoke.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Paul Tansey, Hans Hill, Phil Watkins and Ben Jylkka earned second in the event, finishing in 1:39.09. Justin Vasquez, Justin Barkel, Kyle Barrons and Aaron Renton followed, finishing third with a time of 1:39.69.
Justin Vasquez, Aaron Renton, Dan Kimble and Matt Witkowski added a second place finish for the Lakers in the 200-yard freestyle relay, completing the race in 1:28.04.
