Lakers Fall 151-140 to Hope College

Final Stats

Jennifer Hillson posted a national qualifying score of 256.85 points to win the 3-meter dive against Hope College. Despite many strong performances, the Lakers fell 151-140.

Jennifer Hillson also won the 1-meter dive with a score of 251.32 points. Raelyn Prelewitz placed second in both events, recording 254.02 points in the 3-meter and 239.92 points in the 1-meter.

Jenna Thayer won the 200-yard butterfly for the Lakers, finishing in 2:11.44. Thayer also turned in a second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.92. She was also victorious in the 200-yard IM, completing the race in 2:13.15. She was followed by Alison VanKampen who earned second place (2:15.26).

Alison VanKampen went on to win the 200-yard breastroke for the Lakers racing to a finish of 2:31.50. VanKampen also won the 100-yard breastroke completing the race in 1:09.35. Sam Stump earned second in the 100-year breastroke (1:10.78) and third in the 200-yard breastroke (2:33.04).

Megan Hahler added to the Lakers effort winning the 1000-yard freestyle. She finished the race in 10:59.72. Kelli Anguilm tacked on a third place finish in the event (11:22.75). Hahler also handed in a second place finish, clocking a 5:23.70 500-yard freestyle. Eli Leskovar earned third place in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing the race in 5:27.16.

Allison Scholz tacked on a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, completing the race in 25.80.

Danielle Buglio clocked a 1:01.96 100-yard breastroke, to earn third place for the Lakers.

Buglio, along with Alison VanKampen, Jenna Thayer and Allison Scholz won the women's 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.42. Liz Rodgers, Sam Stump, EB Phillips and Amy Williams followed to finish third (1:54.76).

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Robyn Kobes, Beth Cyr, Kelli Anguilm and Eli Leskovar raced to a second place finish with a time of 1:43.67.

The Lakers will compete again at Findlay, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m.
