GVSU Falls 119-112 Against Indianapolis

Final Stats

Despite a strong effort, the Lakers fall to Indianapolis 119-112.

Jennifer Hillson proved an outstanding performance on the board posting two first place finishes for the Lakers. Hillson won the 1-meter dive, tallying 233.47 points. She also was victorious in the 3-meter dive, earning 237.30 points. Raelyn Prelewitz followed Hillson to finish second in both events, recording 225.37 points in the 1-meter dive and 237.30 points in the 3-meter dive.

Jenna Thayer was victorious in two events, winning both the 200-yard IM (2:13.59) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.93). Alison VanKampen tacked on a third place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:15.10, while Nina Reynolds added a third place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, completing the race in 2:20.24.

Katie Lawrie won the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.12), as Megan Hahler (5:24.13) finished third in the event. Lawrie also tacked on a second place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:56.27). Megan Hahler finished third in the event with a time of 11:13.44.

Allison Scholz recorded two second place finishes for the Lakers as she clocked a 25.84 50-yard freestyle. She added another second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56,19.

Danielle Buglio raced to finish the 200-yard backstroke in 2:14.22 to win second place. Alison VanKampen raced to finish the 200-yard breastroke in 2:32.16 to also win second place. Sam Stump followed VanKampen, placing third with a time of 2:33.92. Sam Stump also added another third place finish, with a time of 2:01.20 n the 200-yard freestyle.

The Lakers finished second and third in the 200-yard medley relay. Danielle Buglio, Sam Stump, Jenna Thayer and Allison Scholz earned second place, while Liz Rodgers, Shannon Morton, EB Phillips and Amy Williams finished third. Robyn Kobes, Eli Leskovar, Kelli Anguilm and Beth Cyr also finished third, earning a 200-yard freestyle relay time of 1:42.54.

The Lakers will host Hope College Jan. 26 at 6:00 p.m.
