Women's Tennis Drops 5-0 Decision At Drury In NCAA Tennis Action

Springfield, Mo. - Grand Valley State saw its season come to an end in the NCAA DII Women's Tennis Great Lakes Regional final to Drury by a score of 5-0. Drury now advances to the final 16 in Kansas City, Mo. GVSU concludes its season with a 22-9 mark. The Lakers have now advanced to two straight NCAA DII Great Lakes Regional finals.

Drury jumped out to a 3-0 lead after claiming three tough wins in doubles action. The Panthers won at #1 and #2 doubles by identical 8-5 scores, before claiming an 8-3 win at #3. Drury wrapped up the win with straight set wins at #2 and #3 singles.

"It was an outstanding year and we continued improving through the final match," said GVSU head coach John Black. "The women's tennis program is growing and it is exciting to be a part something that is on the rise," added Black.
