#11 Grand Valley State swept Lake Superior State, 3-0 (30-19, 30-23, 30-22) in a GLIAC matchup Thursday night. GVSU improves to 23-4 overall and 15-1 in GLIAC action. The Lakers will host #18 Northern Michigan on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and will play Michigan Tech on Saturday in the Volley Bash at Ann Arbor Pioneer at 5:00 p.m.
GVSU hit .316 as a team, while LSSU tallied a .072 attack percentage on the match. Grand Valley tallied 14 blocks on the night. The Lakers were led by sophomore Megan Helsen who tallied a team-high 13 kills, a .522 attack percentage, and 13 digs. Junior Tracy Kirk recorded 12 kills and three assisted blocks, while junior Lauren Hanson who tallied a .562 attack percentage, 10 kills, and four assisted blocks.
Junior Tina Tromblay posted 10 kills and nine digs, while redshirt freshman Alyson Riley recorded a team-high 20 digs. Senior Leah Kunz tallied 28 assists and four assisted blocks, and junior Michele Ehrlich added 22 assists.
