#11 Grand Valley State remains perfect in GLIAC action as it defeated Gannon University 3-1 (30-24, 30-26, 28-30, 30-18). GVSU is now 18-3 overall and 10-0 in GLIAC play. The Lakers will host Hillsdale on Friday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m. and Wayne State on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 4:00 p.m.
GVSU won game one 30-24 behind its .409 attack percentage. Grand Valley tallied a 30-26 game two win, but Gannon won game three, 30-28. The Lakers closed out the match with a 30-18 victory.
Leading the way for the Lakers was junior Tracy Kirk, who posted a match-high 22 kills, a .442 attack percentage, and two blocks. Junior Lauren Hanson tallied a .467 hitting percentage, 17 kills, and four blocks, while senior Stephanie Maciasz-Dow added 15 kills and two blocks. Junior Tina Tromblay posted 13 kills and 10 digs, and redshirt freshman Alyson Riley led the Lakers with 19 digs.
Grand Valley hit .373 as a team, while Gannon tallied a .177 attack percentage. The Lakers have won 42 out of their last 48 games.
