Grand Valley State remains perfect in GLIAC action as the volleyball team tallied a 3-1 (30-23, 30-22, 24-30, 30-25) victory at archrival Ferris State Tuesday night. The Lakers improve to 16-3 overall and 8-0 in GLIAC play.
Grand Valley tallied a .107 attack percentage and FSU hit just .065. Both teams committed 30+ errors, but the Bulldogs totaled 20 service errors. GVSU tallied eight more blocks, 20 more digs, and five more kills in the match.
The Lakers were led by junior Tina Tromblay who posted a team-high 14 kills, 17 digs, and five assisted blocks. Senior Stephanie Maciasz tallied 11 kills, while junior Tracy Kirk added 10 kills. Redshirt freshman Alyson Riley recorded a team-high 25 digs and sophomore Megan Helsen added 14 digs and two service aces, Junior Lauren Hanson posted eight assisted blocks, while sophomore Molly Young tallied 10 digs.
Grand Valley has won 12 consecutive matches and has won 36 out of its last 41 games.
The Lakers will continue to play on the road as they travel to Mercyhurst on Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m. and Gannon on Oct. 9 at 4:00 p.m.
