Women's CC Places Top Five Runners at Aquinas Invitational

Grand Valley State's women's cross country team took first place at the Aquinas Invitational on Friday. GVSU placed all five women in the top five spots to tally only 15 points. The Lakers recorded a 69-point victory over second place Aquinas College.

Senior Krista O'Dell led the way for the Lakers, as she won the meet with a time of 18:09.00. Coming in second, was junior Natalie Ewing (18:14.00) and finishing third was sophomore Kara Egan with a time of 18:16.00. Senior Jeannette Seckinger (18:35.00) and sophomore Megan Doerr (18:35.00) rounded out the scoring for the Lakers, by placing fourth and fifth, respectively.

GVSU also placed three other runners in the top ten, as Steph Sliwinski and Mandi Long finished in sixth and seventh place and Adrian Chouinard placed ninth.

The Lakers will run again in two weeks, as they travel to Cary, North Carolina for the Great American XC Festival.
