Grand Valley State picked up two more victories in the Lady Buff Classic in Canyon, Texas. GVSU defeated Regis, 3-1, and Eastern New Mexico, 3-0. The Lakers are ranked #7 in the AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll and will face #12 West Texas A&M Saturday at 8:00 p.m. EST.

GVSU defeated Regis in four games Friday, 30-25, 35-33, 30-22, 30-21. The Lakers were led by senior setter Nicole Bayle who tallied 47 assists, seven digs, and 10 total attacks. GVSU's other senior, Sabrina Bird added 15 kills, six blocks, and 26 total attacks. Freshman Megan Helsen continued to step up for GVSU as she added 12 kills, 10 digs, and two aces. Stephanie Maciasz and Lauren Hanson added 10 and 13 kills respectively.

The Lakers had no problem defeating Eastern New Mexico in three games Saturday, 30-20, 30-18, 30-20. Bayle recorded 10 kills, 18 assists, five digs, three assisted block, and three aces. Bird tallied a team-high 12 digs, two aces, and six total blocks. Junior Leah Kunz added nine assists, while freshman Molly Young tallied 11 digs, and sophomore Lauren Hanson had six kills, 23 total attacks, three digs, and three total blocks.

GVSU is now 3-0 on the season and will finish play in the Lady Buff Classic tonight against #12 West Texas A&M.
