Grand Valley State's men's basketball team fell to Mercyhurst, 84-63 Thursday. The Lakers are now 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the GLIAC.

GVSU trailed 41-27 at the half, but was able to cut the lead to 11 to begin the second half. However, it wasn't enough to stop Mercyhurst, who shot 63% from the floor in the second half.

The Lakers were led by senior center Jason Bauer who recorded a double-double with 18 points and 20 rebounds. Nate Bassett and Justen Naughton each added 12 points and Courtney James scored 10 for GVSU.

Grand Valley will travel to Gannon Saturday for another GLIAC match-up with tip-off set for 3:00 p.m.
