Jaycee Cotton enters her second season as the director of soccer operations and assistant coach in the 2026 season.
In her first season at GVSU in 2025, Cotton was apart of the coaching staff that helped lead the Lakers to a GLIAC regular season and tournament championship. GVSU went 19-2-1 on the season and 13-1 in the GLIAC. Cotton was on the GVSU staff that was named the GLIAC Coaching Staff of the Year. Three players earned All-American honors, while seven players earned Midwest All-Region honors which was the most by any team in the region. GVSU had three players earn major GLIAC awards and a league best 10 players earned All-GLIAC honors.Â
Prior to GVSU, Cotton played college soccer at Missouri - State. Louis. Cotton earned All-GLVC second team honors as a senior in 2024 and third team honors as a junior in 2023. During her four-year career. Cotton appeared in 74 games making 66 starts. She scored 11 goals and dished out six assists for 28 points from her primary defensive position.Â
