As a Redshirt Senior (2019)
Earned All-GLIAC First Team honors...Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team…One of just five Lakers to start all 61 games…Hit .337 with 67 total hits including seven doubles and a home run while knocking in 18 RBI’s…Drew a team-high 24 walks and posted a team-best .419 on-base percentage while going 19-22 in stolen base attempts – the fourth most in the GLIAC…Also scored 60 runs – the second most in a single season in program history…As a catcher and outfielder, she failed to commit a single error, posting 173 putouts and nine assists for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage…Tallied 17 multi-hit games which was tied for third most on the team…Posted the second longest hitting streak of the season with a base knock in 12 straight games and held the highest streak for reaching base in a game with 24…Helped the Lakers to an early regional victory over Illinois-Springfield (2/23), going 3-4 with a season and career-high four RBI’s while scoring three runs herself…Scored four runs in a single game against Ashland (3/24) after going 2-4 with two RBI’s…Added another three hit game against Saginaw Valley (4/20), going 304 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored…Laid down a bunt single to lead off the College World Series elimination game against LIU Post (5/24) before counting as the game-winning run after a homer brought her home a batter later…Tallied five total hits while at the College World Series…Leaves GVSU ranking second in runs scored (173), sacrifice hits (38), games started (222), and at bats (721)…Ranks third in program history with 72 stolen bases and sixth in career hits (247).
As a Redshirt Junior (2018)
Named to the D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team…Earned NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team honors…Named to the All-GLIAC First Team as a utility player…Earned GLIAC All-Academic Excellence honors...Named as a GLIAC Spring Commissioner's Award winner…Led the team with a .407 batting average and 72 hits while going 20-24 in stolen base attempts…Tallied 72 hits, 11 doubles, one triple, and two homers while collecting 27 RBI’s…Ranked second on the team with a .445 on-base percentage and third with a .514 slugging percentage…Her 72 hits were also the highest total in the GLIAC while her 44 runs scored was second in the conference…She also laid down 12 sacrifice hits, which was 4th in the league…Also ranked third in batting average and fifth in on-base percentage…Finished second on the team with 20 multi-hit games…Tied for the team lead with an 11-game hitting streak, which came in the Lakers final 11 games…Tallied her first career homer against Ashland (4/21) before launching her second against Davenport (4/30) a few games later…Recorded three hits five times during the season, including a 3-for-4 performance with an RBI and two runs scored against Ferris State (5/4) in the opening round of the GLIAC Tournament…Finished the season ranked 11th in single season program history with a .995 fielding percentage…Ends the season ranked in a tie for fifth in program history with 31 career sacrifice hits and sixth with 53 stolen bases…Her current .345 career batting average is also 15th in the Laker record book.
As a Junior (2017)
Named to GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team…Appeared and started in 10 games before missing the remainder of the season due to an injury…Hit .290 with nine hits, seven runs, a double, six walks, and four RBI…Moved into 10th place in GVSU career history with 33 stolen bases after tallying three stolen bases this season…Scored two runs and walked twice, while adding a hit, RBI, and stolen base against Sioux Falls (Mar. 10)…Went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored against Drury (Mar. 11)…Collected two hits, two runs, an RBI, and a stolen base in 7-0 road win at Purdue Northwest (Mar. 19)…Was 1-for-3, scored a run, and swiped two bases in 6-0 nightcap win over Purdue Northwest (Mar. 19).
As a Sophomore (2016)
Selected to the NFCA All-Midwest Region Second Team...Named to the All-GLIAC First Team…Earned GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team honors…One of five Lakers to start in all 56 games, with 49 starts coming at catcher and seven in center field…Hit .333 with a team-high 186 at-bats, tying for the team lead in runs (35), while adding 62 hits, 21 RBI, and 68 total bases…Went a perfect 21-for-21 in stolen bases to lead the team in that category…Added 13 walks for .380 on-base percentage, fourth-highest on the team…Ranked fourth in the GLIAC in stolen bases (21), sacrifice bunts (14), plate appearances (214) and at-bats (186), eighth in hits (62), ninth in runs (35), and 24th in average (.333)…Also finished 10th in putouts (257) and total chances (288), while .993 fielding percentage ranked 22nd…Her 21 stolen bases are tied for 10th-most in GVSU single season history…Enters junior season with 30 stolen bases, the 10th-highest career total in school history…Recorded 14 multi-hit contests (fourth-most on the team), including five games of at least three hits, and team’s only four-hit game of the year…Tallied a 16-game ‘reached base’ streak from Feb. 26 to Mar. 12 and an eight-game hitting streak to begin the season…Went 2-for-4 and scored twice in 7-6 win over Wisconsin-Parkside (Feb. 27)…Drove in two runs and was 2-for-5 with a run scored in 9-3 victory over William Jewell (Feb. 27)…Walked a season-high three times, stole two bases, and scored a run in 4-3 win over NCAA Tournament participant Trevecca Nazarene (Mar. 10)…Recorded four consecutive multi-hit contests, combining to go 11-for-14 with two doubles, two walks, two stolen bases, three RBI, and four runs as GVSU went 3-1 on Mar. 11-12…Went 4-for-4 with a double, a walk, two stolen bases, and three runs scored in 13-5 win over Pace (Mar. 12)…Followed up with a 3-for-4 outing with two RBI, a double, and a run later that day in 6-1 win over Minnesota State Moorhead (Mar. 12)…Notched 3-for-4 effort with a double and a run in 4-3 road win at Ashland (Mar. 25)…Went 2-for-4 in each game of doubleheader sweep over Northwood (Apr. 7), with a double, two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI…Totaled consecutive 3-for-4 performances with two stolen bases and a run in opening game wins in doubleheaders over Malone (Apr. 22) and Walsh (Apr. 23)…Tripled and drove in two runs in 7-1 home victory against Hillsdale (Apr. 24)…Went 2-for-3 in NCAA Midwest Region Tournament championship game 2-1 win over Trevecca Nazarene (May 7)…Scored first run in seventh inning comeback of GVSU’s 5-4 win at #10 Wayne State (May 11) in Midwest Super Region Tournament series, collecting a pair of hits.
As a Freshman (2015)
Appeared in 45 games and made 42 total starts (21 at catcher, 18 in center field, three in right field) in true freshman season…Hit .289 with 37 hits, 27 runs, 11 RBI, and team-high nine stolen bases…Ranked 16th in the GLIAC in stolen bases and 23rd in runs, which were also fourth-highest on the team…Totaled nine multi-hit games and a pair of multi-RBI contests…Went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and scored three times in 11-3 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan (Feb. 22)…Scored two runs apiece in three of five games in early March…Was 2-for-2 and scored two runs in 6-1 win over Saint Rose, followed by 3-for-4 outing with a double and a run later that day against Southern New Hampshire (Mar. 5)…Notched 3-for-3 effort, drove in a run, and scored three times in 8-0 home victory over Aquinas (Mar. 26)…Combined to go 4-for-7 with two stolen bases and three runs in home wins over Lake Superior State (Apr. 7) and Ohio Dominican (Apr. 11)…Recorded a base hit in five of last six games, including a hit in three of four postseason games…Scored game-winning run from second base on walk-off single, as GVSU topped Tiffin 4-3 in eight innings of GLIAC Tournament contest (May 1).
High School: Prepped at Shepherd High School under head coaches Jill Chaney and Tracie Lentz…12-year varsity letterwinner, Rhynard played five sports during her freshman year…Totaled a .550 batting average in 2013, with 55 hits, 58 runs, 60 RBI, and 32 stolen bases, earning all-state honorable mention plaudits that year…Also received all-conference, all-district, and all-region honors in 2011 and 2013 with the Bluejays…Injured throughout most of 2012 season, when Shepherd won district title…Hit .497 during freshman season of 2011…Also competed in four years of cross country and track and field, while playing one year each of basketball and volleyball…Participated in Student Council, Business Professionals of America, Science Club, and National Honor Society.
