Varsity Sports Fan Guide
*Some sports have different guidelines which will be highlighted below
Alcohol: Alcohol is prohibited in any building or at any athletic venue
Animals: Animals are not permitted in or around athletics facilities grounds, with the exception of trained service animals for our guests with disabilities
Attire: The GVSU Golf Club adheres to a strict dress code policy. Slacks, polo shirt, and comfortable walking shoes are appropriate attire (GOLF)
Autographs: Athletes will sign autographs during designated fan days at various events. For more information go to donation requests/autographs
Automotive Assistance: Before, during, and after the game, contact GVPD for dead battery and locked car assistance
Banners (see also Prohibited items): Banners, flags, or flagpoles are not allowed into the arena (Basketball & Volleyball)
Binoculars: Binoculars and their cases are permitted in the facilities, subject to inspection at all entrances
Camera Policy: Point-and-shoot cameras are permitted inside the facility. However, professional camera equipment, camera bags and camera lenses exceeding 6” in length, monopods, tripods, and video cameras are prohibited inside the facility. Flash photography is not permitted. Any capture of images still or motion for the purposes of advertising, promotions, trade, or resale by patrons is prohibited. The recording of events and the public distribution without prior written permission is a violation of the GLIAC and GVSU.

Concessions
• Basketball/Volleyball
o A variety of food and beverage items are served during GV Basketball and Volleyball games. Food and drink items range from $2-$8. Credit card payment will be accepted at permanent concession stands

o A concessions trailer or table will be located behind the stands

Lacrosse/Outdoor Track & Field/Soccer
o The concession stand is located behind the stands at mid-field

Softball
o A concessions table will be set up near the Kelly Family Sports Center
Court Access: Only authorized persons with proper credentials are allowed on the court. Fans entering the court area without proper credentials are subject to eviction and arrest. Credentials for court access are not available for purchase (Basketball & Volleyball)
Credit Cards: Credit cards will be accepted at permanent concession stands

Evacuation: In the event of an emergency, arena staff will utilize the public address system to inform patrons of the situation and any instructions as applicable. All exits and emergency exits in the arena are clearly marked
First Aid: If you need medical assistance, contact the closest GVSU Athletics employee or Police Officer.
Food/Beverages: Patrons may not bring outside food or beverages, including alcoholic beverages, inside the Arena. Concession stands are located throughout the concourse and offer a variety of food and beverages
Game Dates and Times: Game dates and times can be found on gvsulakers.com
Liability: Neither Grand Valley State University nor Laker athletics will be liable for loss or damage to vehicles or contents
Merchandise: GVSU apparel can be purchased at LouiesLockerRoom.com as well as gvsulakers.com.
Noisemakers: GLIAC and NCAA rules prohibit artificial noisemakers from being brought inside facilities. This includes but is not limited to bells, cow bells, horns (including air horns), kazoos, and whistles. Prohibited items will be confiscated.

Radios: Hand-held and pocket-sized portable radios are allowed in the facility. Please be considerate of other patrons and use an earpiece or headphones to listen to your radio
Restrooms
o Restrooms are located throughout the Fieldhouse Arena
• Golf
o Restrooms are located in the Clubhouse
• Soccer
o The restrooms in the track stadium are used during GVSU Soccer games
• Softball
o There is a Port-A-John located outside of the right field fence as well as on the exterior of the Kelly Family Sports Center
• Swimming and Diving
o Restrooms are located on the main level of the Fieldhouse outside of the pool venue
• Tennis
o Restrooms are located in the Kelly Family Sports Center as well as the Fieldhouse
Sea of Change
Smoking/Tobacco Policy: Smoking on any athletics grounds at GVSU is prohibited. If seen smoking on athletic grounds, you will be asked to go to a parking lot
Social Media: All social media sites that are used by Grand Valley State Athletics can be found at gvsulakers.com
Solicitation: Grand Valley State does not permit unauthorized soliciting or collecting of contributions, vending, distribution of fliers or other promotional/advertising materials on GVSU property
Special Announcements: Special announcements on the public address system and scoreboard are limited to medical and police emergencies. GVSU does not announce or display birthday, anniversary, or other personal messages on the public address system or scoreboard
Sportsmanship: The throwing of objects from the stands is strictly prohibited and is cause for immediate ejection. Also, fans may not go on to the playing field at any time before, during, or after games except upon approval by GVSU
Tailgating: Tailgating is permitted in parking areas surrounding the GVSU Baseball and Softball fields.

Tents and Canopies: Tents and canopies are not permitted unless authorized by GVSU Athletics

Weapons: No weapons of any kind are permitted anywhere on the GVSU Campus
