Women's Golf In Second After Day One At UIndy Fall Invite

HENRYVILLE, IND. – The Grand Valley State women's golf team got their 2026-27 season underway with two rounds of play at the UIndy Fall Invite. Following those 36 holes, the Lakers are in second place.

Lincoln Memorial leads the field after shooting -6 over the opening two rounds, holding a 23-stroke lead. GVSU is in second at +17, followed by McKendree in third at +26. In fourth is host UIndy with a score of +29, while Henderson State sits fifth, shooting +36.
 
Lea Stotz is the top Laker golfer after 36. The junior carded rounds of 75 (+3) and a program-tying round of 66 (-6). Stotz made 10 birdies and ended the day in third at three under par. Heida Rafnsdottir made five birdies across her rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 to end the day tied for 11th. Making her collegiate debut, Elle Furrow ended the day in 15th, shooting a 74 and 76 (+4) with four birdies. Evelyn Park is tied for 20th at +9, as she shot a 79 (+7) and a 74 with four birdies. Scarlett Phillips shot a 79 and an 81 (+9), making three birdies to tie for 39th. Playing as an individual, Skyler Tierney ended tied for 16th, following her rounds of 79 and 72 (E), sinking three birdies in each round.
 
The Lakers will tee off the final round Wednesday morning.
