Women's Golf Plays Opening Round At The Meadows

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's golf team teed off in their lone home tournament of the fall, playing the first round of the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite. After 18 holes, GVSU is in fifth place.

Findlay leads the pack at +11, seven strokes up on second-place McKendree. In third is Wayne State with a score of +20, followed by Ashland in fourth at+21. GVSU is behind those four, shooting a first round score of +25.
 
Leading the way for Grand Valley State is Lea Stotz. Stotz carded a 75 (+3) today, making two birdies to end in a tie for sixth. Charlotte Goersch and Elle Furrow are both tied for 25th after shooting a 79 (+7). Goersch made two birdies today. Heida Rafnsdottir and Scarlett Phillips each made a birdie in their rounds of 80 (+8) to end tied for 36th.
 
On the individual side, Evelyn Park shot a 76 (+4) with one birdie to tie for ninth. In a tie for 19th in Skyler Tierney, who sank three birdies in her round of 78 (+6). June Hsiao shot an 85 (+13) to tie for 72nd after day one.
 
Round two will begin tomorrow morning at 9:00.
