FINDLAY, OHIO – The Grand Valley State women's golf team started out NCAA East Regional action, playing the opening 36 holes. With one round to play, the Lakers are in second, led by two individuals in the top 10.
Results
Host Findlay leads the field by eleven strokes, shooting +29. The Lakers are second after shooting 616, ending at +40. In third is UMSL, who carded a +49, followed by McKendree 12 strokes behind them. Ferris State and UIndy are tied for fifth at +63.
Leading the way for GVSU is
Lea Stotz who is tied for fourth at +7. She carded rounds 73 (+1) and 78 (+6) with two birdies in each round.
Heida Rafnsdottir sank three birdies across her rounds of 74 (+2) and 80 (+8) to finish tied for ninth at +10.
Charlotte Goersch shot two rounds of 78 with four birdies, concluding in a tie for 13
th at +12.
Rachael Krieger made a hole in one in her first round of 81 (+9), then shot a 76 (+4) to end in a tie for 15
th. Finishing in a tie for 29
th was
Evelyn Park who shot rounds of 79 (+7) and 81.
The final 18 holes are scheduled to be played tomorrow if the weather permits.
