WASHINGTON, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's golf team concluded their second tournament of the fall, and for the second straight event, the Lakers found themselves in second place. On the individual side, freshman
June Hsiao picked up her first collegiate victory.
Results
The Lakers and Findlay tied for first at +21, forcing a tiebreaker, which the Oilers won by one stroke, giving them the win and GVSU the runner-up finish. Ferris State was third at +48, followed by Davenport at +61 in fourth, and Northwood was fifth, ending at +70.
Hsiao was one of four individuals tied for first, along with
Rachael Krieger, as the players went to a playoff. It took five holes, but Hsiao was able to pull out the victory. Her and Krieger both ended at three over to end in the tie.
Charlotte Goersch carded a final round of 71 (-1) to end in eighth at eight over. One stroke back of her in ninth was
Lea Stotz, who made two birdies in her final round of 75 (+3).
Heida Rafnsdottir made two birdies in her final round of 77 (+5), finishing in a tie for 22
nd.
Skyler Tierney finished in a tie for 40
th at +29.

The Laker are back in action this weekend for three straight days. They start with two days at the Lady Bulldog Invitational in Big Rapids on Saturday and Sunday, then they are back at the Meadows for a single-day on Monday for the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite.
