ALLENDALE – The No. 4 Grand Valley State women's soccer team opens their conference schedule this week on the road at Saginaw Valley State. Kickoff is set for Friday, September 19
th at 1:00 PM in University Center, Michigan.
GVSU wrapped up nonconference play at home last weekend. The Lakers fell 1-0 to No. 3 Minnesota State before defeating No. 17 Central Missouri 2-1 to improve to 3-1 on the season. Freshman
Ivy Wilhelm scored the game-winning goal against Central Missouri for her first collegiate goal. Junior
Alli French scored her first goal of the season in the win against the Jennies. Freshman goalkeeper
Macie Hunter picked up her first career win.
Sophomore
Sarah Fromm leads GVSU in scoring with three goals and six points to start the season. Wilhelm has notched one goal and one assist for three points. Freshman
Cora Conley leads GVSU with two assists. Conley dished out the game-winning assist in the win over Central Missouri. Goalkeeper

Saginaw Valley State enters the conference opener with a 2-1-1 overall record. The Cardinals swept last weekend defeating Walsh 6-0 and Findlay 3-1 on the road. Senior Madi Bajis leads the Cardinals with three goals and one assist for seven points. Bajis has recorded 14 shots with six being on target. Sophomore Emma Bradley has netted two goals for four points on six shots. Freshman Abby Ellis has added a goal and assist for the Cardinals including the game-winning goal against Findlay.
