ADRIAN, Mich. – The GVSU women's wrestling team finished as the runner-up for Region 5 at regionals with a score of 171.5, just behind North Central, which scored 173, competing against seven other teams in Adrian, Mich. The Lakers had five wrestlers claim first place in their respective weight classes. Additionally, 11 out of the 15 Lakers will be heading to Nationals on March 7-8 in Coralville, Iowa. Jake Short was named Region 5 Coach of the Year by the NCWWC.
