#2 Lakers Set for Final Road Trip of Regular Season

ALLENDALE – The No. 2 Grand Valley State women's soccer makes their final road trip of the regular season this weekend when they travel to face Parkside and Roosevelt. The Lakers will open the weekend against Parkside on Friday, October 17th at 2:00 PM ET and then Roosevelt on Sunday, October 19th at 1:00 PM ET.
 
GVSU is coming off a 2-1 road win at Ferris State last week. The Lakers notched both goals in the second half with Ivy Wilhelm scoring the game-winning goal in the 77th minute. With the win, GVSU improved to 9-1 on the season and 6-0 in the GLIAC. The Lakers sit in first place in the GLIAC standings with 18 points as Parkside sits in second place with 16 points having played one extra game.
 
This will be the second meeting between GVSU and Parkside. The two teams last met in Allendale two weeks ago with the Lakers defeating the Rangers 1-0. Sarah Fromm scored the lone goal in the 78th minute as the Lakers outshot the Rangers 14-4. GVSU is now 18-5-1 all-time against Parkside.
 
Sarah Fromm leads GVSU and ranks third in the GLIAC with 12 points off five goals and two assists. Fromm and Alli French lead the GLIAC with three game-winning goals each. French has notched four goals for eight points on the season. Ivy Wilhelm has scored three goals and dished out three assists for nine points. Goalkeeper Macie Hunter has posted a perfect 7-0 record in goal with a 0.15 goals-against average while making eight saves.
 
This will be the first matchup between GVSU and Roosevelt this season. Roosevelt enters Sunday's match with a 3-6-1 overall record and 1-5-1 GLIAC mark. Roosevelt has scored 19 goals on the season while allowing 23 goals. The Lakers split last weekend's pair of road GLIAC matches. Roosevelt defeated Davenport 2-0 before falling to Saginaw Valley State 4-1. Daisy Garcia is second in the GLIAC with 13 points on five goals and three assists on the season.
