NASHVILLE – The Grand Valley State softball team fell to Trevecca Nazarene 7-1 Saturday (May 11) afternoon in the Midwest Regional. The Lakers finish the season with a 37-18 record.
GVSU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
Liberti Fair led off the inning with a double to right field and advanced to third on a groundout. Later in the inning with two outs,
MaryJane Goodman singled to left field to bring home Fair.
Trevecca Nazarene would take a 3-1 lead in the third with a three-run inning. The Trojans would add four runs that were all unearned in the fourth inning to go ahead 7-1.
Genesis Eggart got the start in the circle and suffered the loss tossing three innings allowing three runs with one strikeout.
Ashley Platek tossed three innings of relief with two strikeouts.
MaryJane Goodman went 1-3 with an RBI, while
Liberti Fair went 1-3 with a double and run scored.
Morgan Spicer batted 1-3 with a double, while
Hannah Hollister and
Carsyn Segorski each added a hit.
