ALLENDALE – The No. 19 Grand Valley State women's soccer closes out the regular season at home with a pair of huge games with a conference championship on the line.

GVSU will take on first place Northern Michigan on Thursday (Nov. 7) at 5:00 PM. The Lakers trail the Wildcats by one point in the GLIAC standings. A win would move GVSU into first place ahead of Northern Michigan by two points with one game to play in the regular season. GVSU will close out the regular season on Saturday (Nov. 9) when they host Michigan Tech at 1:00 PM.
GVSU enters the final weekend of the regular season in second place in the GLIAC standings with an 8-1-3 mark and 11-1-4 overall record. The Lakers defeated Roosevelt 2-1 last weekend before playing to a scoreless draw against Davenport. GVSU has outscored their opponents 25-6 on the season.
The Lakers defeated Northern Michigan 1-0 on the road earlier this season.
Ella Kleiver scored the lone goal which was her first goal of the season. GVSU is 37-3-3 all-time against Northern Michigan.
The Wildcats come to Allendale with a 9-2-1 GLIAC record and 11-3-2 overall record. Northern Michigan leads the GLIAC with 45 goals scored, while the Lakers lead the GLIAC with six goals against. The Wildcats have produced 314 total shots which leads the GLIAC, while GVSU is second with 282 shots.
Northern Michigan is led by Justina L'Esperance who leads the GLIAC with 10 goals and 27 points. L'Esperance is tied for the GLIAC lead with seven assists with teammates Brooke Pietila and Molly Pistorius. Pietila has notched nine goals and is second in the GLIAC with 25 points, while leading the GLIAC with four game-winning goals. Pistorius is third in the GLIAC with six goals and 19 points. Hannah Kastamo has added five goals and three assists for 13 points this season. Goalkeeper Sally Patton has posted a 10-2-2 record in goal with five individual shutouts and four combined shutouts.
GVSU will close out the regular season at home against Michigan Tech. The Huskies are 6-9-0 on the season with a 4-8-0 GLIAC mark. Michigan Tec his led by Julia Pietila who has scored six goals and dished out two assists for 14 points on the season. Kiersen Korienek has notched two goals and two assists for six points on the season. Goalkeeper Bri Barrows has posted a 6-8-0 record in goal with four individual shutouts.
