AUSTIN, TX./SAN MARCOS, TX. – The Grand Valley State men's and women's track and field teams completed Day Two at the 95^th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational on Friday, March 31^st. In addition, the Lakers' distance squad took on the one-day Spartan Invite in East Lansing, Mich. 
 
At the Texas Relays, Matt Thomas claimed a second-place finish in the men's shot put "B" with a new personal-best throw of 18.59m. Jonathan Rankins-James finished ninth in the men's high jump "B" for the Lakers, clearing a distance of 2.10m. 
 
On the track, the women's 4x100 squad consisting of Angelica Floyd, Kate Zang, Timia Robinson and Melia Williams finished 15^th in the timed finals, recording a time of 47.46. Brooke Barkocy, Destini Dorkins, Ashtyn Gluck and Kate Zang placed 17^th in the women's 4x400 timed finals with a time of 3:56.05.
 
In San Marcos, TX at the Bobcat Invitational, Bobby Maxwell recorded a sixth-place finish in the men's javelin throw with a distance of 59.78m. On the track, Steven Harris placed eighth in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 53.62. Jacody Sikora and Myles Rhodes finished 12^th and 19^th in the men's 200m with a new personal-best time of 21.11 (Sikora) and 21.24 (Rhodes). 
 
Over in East Lansing at the Spartan Invite, Jordyn Hopgood took home third place in the women's 3000m steeple with a new personal-best time of 11:16.11 followed by Paige McAloon in fifth with a new personal-best time of 11:27.74.
 
 In the men's steeple, Jack Duinick placed seventh for the Lakers with a new personal-best time of 10:10.86. Brett Baine finished third in the men's 200m with a time of 22.02 and placed eighth in the 100m with a time of 11.13. In the 5000m, Joe Rinke recorded a sixth-place finish with a time of 15:07.60.
 
In the field, Shelby Ulven led the women's throws team with a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 49.23m. Alaina Omonode finished sixth with a throw of 47.73m. 
 
The Lakers finish out the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational tomorrow (April 1^st) starting at 12:00 p.m. (CT) in Austin, TX and 10:00 a.m. (CT) in San Marcos, TX. The pole vault crew will also begin their weekend in High Point, NC at the Vert Klasse Meeting at 12:00 p.m.
