ALLENDALE - The Grand Valley State women's soccer team begins postseason play this Monday (Nov. 5) when they host Davenport in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM. 
 
GVSU closed out the regular season last week with a 2-1 victory over Davenport. The Lakers swept the season series over the Panthers winning both games 2-1. GVSU finished the regular season in second place in the GLIAC with an 8-1-5 mark and 10-2-6 overall record. 
 
Kacy Lauer leads the Lakers in scoring with four goals and three assists for 11 points. Emma Chudik leads GVSU with five goals and is second with 10 points. Taylor Reid scored both goals in the win over Davenport last week and now is third on the team with three goals and three assists for nine points. 
 
Davenport finished the regular season with a 5-6-6 overall record and 2-6-6 GLIAC mark. The Panthers are led by junior forward Haley Diekevers who ranks second in the GLIAC with 18 points. Diekevers has scored seven goals and dished out four assists with two game-winning goals. Freshman forward Madison Fant has scored five goals and dished out two assists for 12 points on the season. Fant is tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals. Senior goalkeeper Gabriana Bennecke has appeared in 12 games making 11 starts in goal for the Panthers. Bennecke has posted a 4-5-3 record making 44 saves.
