MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's soccer team begins NCAA postseason play against McKendree Friday (Nov. 17) morning in Marquette, Michigan at 10:00 PM.

GVSU earned the three seed in the Midwest Region and will face the six seed McKendree in the first round. The winner will advance to the second round and will face the winner of Northern Michigan and Maryville. The Lakers clinched their 20
th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and are 60-12 overall in the tournament, winning an NCAA Division II record seven national championships.
GVSU enters NCAA postseason play with an 11-3-6 record. The Lakers finished second in the GLIAC regular season with an 8-1-5 mark. GVSU has outscored their opponents 30-14 and have outshot their opponents 331-151.
Sophomore

Taylor Reid lead the Lakers with 11 points and three assists. Lauer and Reid have both notched four goals including two game winning goals by Reid and one by Lauer. Junior
Emma Chudik leads GVSU with five goals on the season. Chudik notched her first career hat trick at Purdue Northwest and scored the game winning goal at Parkside.
McKendree enters NCAA tournament play with a 16-1-3 record. The Bearcats claimed the GLVC Tournament championship last weekend, defeating Lewis 1-0 to earn an automatic bid. McKendree is riding a 10-game winning streak including a 15 straight unbeaten streak.
The Bearcats are led by senior forward Anna Stiffler who has scored 12 goals and dished out three assists for 27 points on the season. Stiffler has appeared and started in all 20 games and has notched eight game winning goals. Senior midfielder Katie Spotanski has notched seven goals, dished out four assists for 18 points with two game winning goals. Junior forward Lena Higgins leads the team with seven assists and has added three goals for 13 points. Senior goalkeeper Abby Tucker has started in all 20 games in goal for the Bearcats. Tucker has posted a 15-1-3 record making 37 saves.
