Grand Valley State competed at the Michigan State Open, with four placing among the top six. No team scores were kept at the tourney that featured teams from the Big 10, Big 12 and Mid-American Conference. Freshman Trammel Robinson (165) placed third with a 5-1 record and a tournament-best three falls. Freshman heavyweight Own Hawley placed fourth with ha 3-2 mark, whiel freshman Collin Twigg (133) tallied a 3-2 record and placed fifth. Freshman Jak Keller placed sixth at 149 with a 2-3 mark. Additionally, the Lakers had three wrestlers place that are redshirting and wrestled unattached.
