ALLENDALE – The No. 20 Grand Valley State women's soccer team is set to travel to Saginaw Valley State and Ferris State this weekend for the final road trip of the regular season. The Lakers will first travel to University Center, Michigan to face the Cardinals on Friday (Oct. 20) at 1:00 PM before traveling to Big Rapids to take on Ferris State on Sunday (Oct. 22) at 1:00 PM.

GVSU is coming off a home stand against Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan. The Lakers tied the Huskies 1-1 before falling to the Wildcats 1-0. Freshman
Ella Kleiver scored her second goal of the season against Michigan Tech off the assists from sophomore
Sophia Morgan and junior
Stephanie Sturgeon.
GVSU is now 7-1-3 on the season and are tied for second in the GLIAC with a 5-1-3 mark. Junior
Emma Chudik leads the team with five goals for ten points on the season. Sophomore
Kacy Lauer has notched three goals and one assist for seven points, while freshman
Alli French has added two goals and one assist for five points. Redshirt freshman
Isabel Imes has made eight starts in goal for the Lakers posting a 4-1-3 record making 13 saves.
Saginaw Valley State enters the weekend atop of the GLIAC standings with a 6-1-2 conference mark and 9-2-2 overall record. This will be the 41
st all-time meeting between the two programs. The Lakers lead the series 33-2-5. The last time these two teams faced off was in the first weekend of GLIAC play where the Lakers and Cardinals played to a 1-1 draw.
The Cardinals are led by junior Stephanie Strong who has notched five goals and dished out five assists for 15 points. Strong ranks first in the GLIAC with five assists and second with 15 points. Sophomore Madi Bajis is tied for second in the GLIAC with six goals, while senior Sarah Fredrick is third on her team with four goals and two assists for ten points. Sophomore goalkeeper Lainey Garbarz has made ten appearances making nine starts in goal for the Cardinals this season. Garbarz leads the GLIAC with a 0.43 goals-against average and second with a .897 save percentage.
Ferris State comes into this weekend in fifth place in the GLIAC with a 3-4-2 mark and 5-5-3 overall record. The Bulldogs are coming off a weekend sweep on the road at Purdue Northwest and Parkside. This will be the 46
th overall meeting between GVSU and Ferris State with the Lakers leading the all-time series 35-5-5. These two teams met in the GLIAC opener in Allendale with the Lakers winning 2-1 off a late winner by
Alli French.
Ferris State is led by freshman Katherine Welch who has scored six goals for 12 points this season. Senior Payton Price has notched four goals and dished out three assists for 11 points, while sophomore Haley Buckman has added two goals and one assist on the year. Junior goalkeeper Darya Mossallaei has made 11 appearances making 10 starts in goal posting a 2-2-3 record. Mossallaei has made 48 saves which ranks second in the GLIAC.
