ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's and women's track team closed out the Al Owens Classic in record setting style as
Brandon Miller wins the 100m dash clocking in a school-record time of 10.25.
Makiyah Smallwood ran a personal-best time of 14.30 in the 110m hurdles claiming first. The Lakers opened their outdoor track and field claiming 16 first-place finishes.

Myles Rhodes, and
Jalen Kyles won the the men's 4x100m relay with a time of 41.01. Harkey won the 200m dash with a personal-best time of 21.34, followed by Kyles placing second (21.38) and Rhodes in third (21.40). In the women's 4x100m relay,
Corrina Courser, Timia Robinson,
Isabel Abdouch, and
Melia Williams placed second clocking in a time of 47.93.
Isabel Abdouch finished second in the 400m with a personal-best time of 58.68, she also placed second in the 200m with a time of 25.22. The women's 4x400m relay team of
Cameron Cleveland, Syndey Nesbitt,
Molly McLaughlin, and Jeannee Hill placed first with a time of 4:04.16. Brendon Edoff won the men's 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 54.97.
Madelyn Allman clocked in second in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.18.
In the 800m, Jeanne Hill placed second with a personal-best time of 2:17.28,
Molly McLaughlin finished third with a time of 2:18.32.
Analynne Klotz crossed the line first for the Lakers in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:05.32,
Landyn Howell finished second with a time of 11:12.32.
Jason Millis placed first in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:28.51,
Caleb Swart finished second (9:40.91).
In jumps,
Chanse Setzke finished first in the long jump with a person-best distance of 7.20m. The high jump duo of
Eli Kosiba and
Jonathan Rankins-James continues to succeed with Kosiba finishing first with a height of 2.11m, Rankin-James placed second (2.01m).
Jenna Doyle placed second in the women's high jump clearing a height of 1.62m. Pole vaulter,
Max Rauch placed third clearing the bar at a height of 4.49m.
Myles Kerner led the throws team in shot put on Saturday putting a personal-best distance of 19.48m,
Matt Thomas placed third with a personal-best distance of 18.44m.
Emma Richards claimed another first-place finish for the Lakers in the women's shot put with a distance of 14.74m, followed by
Mackenzie Bohrer in second with a season-best distance of 14.36m and
Elizabeth Pyles in third with a season-best distance of 13.67m.
Nathan Spitzley threw a personal-best distance of 53.10m in the discus throw.
The Lakers are back on the road next weekend to closeout the regular season competing at the Drake Relays on April 27 - 30, Davenport Invitational April 29 - 30, and the Jack Shaw Invite on April 29 - 30.
