The Grand Valley State women's golf team took home the 2019 GLIAC Championship on Sunday afternoon after defeating Wayne State and Davenport in match-play. The Lakers dominated the first two days of stroke-play, winning that portion of the event by 46-strokes after they fired rounds of 299 and 291 to finish 14-over while second place Davenport finished with a 60-over 590. Also advancing to the semifinal rounds were Northwood and Wayne State earning the third and fourth seeds, respectively.

Katie Chipman took home the individual title after she won a playoff hole against teammate
Maria Sol Pose. Not only did those two take first and second, but
Mackenzie Blomberg finished third and
Erin Johnson took fourth as the Lakers held four of the top-five spots individually.
This afternoon, GVSU took down Wayne State in the semifinal round before heading to the finals against the Panthers. The Lakers dominated their final round, winning all five matchups to take the tournament by a 5-0 margin.
The Lakers will have a few days to savor their most recent conference championship before turning their attention to the 2018 NCAA East Regional Tournament for a shot at making yet another trip to the NCAA DII National Tournament.
