HOUGHTON, Mich. – The No. 3 Grand Valley State Lakers earned another shutout win, this time over the Michigan Tech Huskies, 3-0, Sunday (Oct. 20) afternoon at Kearly Stadium. The Lakers improve to 11-1 on the season and 4-0 in GLIAC play after sweeping the weekend trip to the Upper Peninsula.

Riko Sagara and Greta DeLoach provided a goal each in the win. GVSU needed 14 shots to finally crack the scoreboard. After a few near misses, Cook took a centering feed from
Makenna Schoolman and pinged it off the left post and across the line in the 44' to break open the scoring and give the Lakers a lead at halftime. It was the 15
th goal of the season for Cook.
For the fourth time in five matches, the Lakers scored within the first five minutes of the second half. A combination on the wing between DeLoach and Cook found Sagara in front of goal in the 49' for the finish and her fifth goal of the season. Just past the hour mark,
Sydney O'Donnell lofted a clinical cross from the left wing to the far post where DeLoach was able to finish it off for her third goal of the season.
The Lakers have now gone 721 minutes without allowing a goal, posting eight straight clean sheets. GVSU will return home next weekend to host Northwood on Friday (Oct. 25) at 7:00 PM for the final Friday Night Under the Lights of the year before hosting Ferris State Sunday afternoon on ESPN3.
