The Grand Valley State men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed at Indianapolis Saturday in a tri-meet of nationally-ranked opponents that featured the Lakers, Indianapolis and Lindenwood. Entering the meet all six teams were ranked among the top 14 in the nation on both the men's and women's side. For the men Lindenwood was No. 4, Grand Valley State No. 5 and Indianapolis No. 6, while on the women's side Lindenwood was No. 4, Indianapolis No. 7 and GVSU No. 14. The GVSU women earned a split, claiming an impressive 191-111 win over #4 Lindenwood, but dropped a close 161-143 decision to #7 Indianapolis. On the men's side GVSU dropped a close 154-150 decision to #4 Lindenwood that came down to the final relay of the day and lost a 185-119 dual to #6 Indianapolis. The Lakers will next be in action at the GLIAC Championships that will be held at Jenison (Mich.) High School Feb. 14-17.
