The Grand Valley State men's & women's swimming & diving teams claimed wins over Calvin College and Hillsdale College Friday night (Oct. 20) at Calvin College. The Lakers will host Lewis University Saturday (Oct. 21) at 1 p.m.

Men - 
200 Medley Relay - GVSU touched first with a time of 1:33.70 (Harry Shalamon, Marius Mikalauskas, Oscar Saura Amengol); Jack Bruce, Ahmed Nabih, David Turner, Liam Little hit the wall third (1:36.05). 

1000 Free - Dayen Wilson finished first (9:38.14), followed by Jonathan Loshinskie in second (10:13.31) and Zach Reau in third (10:15.20). 

200 Free - Ahmed Nabih hit the wall first (1:44.69), Shalamon third (1:44.97), Moritz Barels fourth (1:46.78) and Joe Zlotnick fifth (1:48.98).

50 Free - Jack Bruce led a 1-2-3 finish when he touched first in 21.29. JD Ham finished second (21.34) and Liam Little third (21.91). 

200 IM - Mikalauskas finished first (1:56.56), followed by Lauri Hatunen in second (1:57.32) and Gonzalo Rodriguez in fourth (2:01.39).

1-Diving - Jared Gregory finished first (291.95), Jared Berger second (240.00), Christopher Kelly in fourth (230.85). 

100 Fly - Saura Amengol led a 1-2-3 finish with a time of 49.68, while Joe Zlotnick was second (52.00) and Rodriguez third (53.91). 

100 Free - Hatunen touched first in 47.29, followed by Little in second (47.88) and Cade Vruggink in fourth (49.33). 

100 Back - Shalamon finished first in 49.71 and James Zetka was third (53.51). 

500 Free - Bartels hit the wall first (4:45.20), Wilson second in 4:50.02 and Loshinskie fourth (4:56.78). 

3-Diving - Gregory finished first with a score of 288.40. 

100 Breast - Mikalouskas touched first (55.72) and as an exhibition Nabih touched in 56.76. 

200 Free Relay - Saura Amengol, Ham, Hatunen and Turner hit the wall first in 1:25.43. 


Women - 

200 Medley Relay - Freyja Garbaccio, Celia Hoag, Hannah Richard and Kathryn Culver hit the wall first in 1:47.83. 

1000 Free - Melina Goebel finished first in 10:41.29 and Sam Postmus was third in 10:49.86. 

200 Free - Caroline Brereton touched third (1:58.81), Hannah Taylor fourth (2:00.61) and Megan Shaughnessy fifth (2:01.04). 

50 Free - Richard was first in 24.59 and Sidney Weaver third (24.82). 

200 IM - Postmus led a 1-2-3 finished with a time of 2:10.69, followed by Abigail Sauerbrei in second (2:12.78) and Jennifer Meulenbelt in third (2:13.68). 

1-Diving - Mikayla Karasek finished first with a score of 253.80 and Nicole Taomina was fourth (189.20). 

100 Fly - Richard touched first (1:00.22), Mercedes Martinez second (1:00.61) and Goebel fourth (1:01.15). 

100 Free - Weaver hit the wall second (54.17), while Weaver and Allison Wells tied for third (55.53). 

100 Back - Garbaccio finished first  59.62 and Brereton was second (1:00.17).

500 Free - Sauerbrei hit the wall first in 5:11.21, while Postmus was fourth (5:20.66). 

3-Diving - Karasek finished first with a score of 251.15. 

100 Breast - Hoag was second in a time of 1:07.62. 

200 Free Relay - Culver, Martinez, Garbaccio and Shaughnessy hit the wall first in 1:40.04.
