The Grand Valley State men's and women's swimming & diving teams split a pair of dual meets at Northern Michigan Saturday afternoon. The Laker men claimed a 202.5-97.5 win over Saginaw Valley State, while the women claimed a 196-103 victory. GVSU dropped both ends of the dual to Northern Michigan, losing 171-129 on the men's side, while the NMU women claimed a 154-146 victory over the Lakers.
The Laker women finished a close second in the 400 medley relay as
Meghan Falconer,
Emily Gallagher,
Hannah Richard and
Melina Goebel touched in 3:57.72.
Leonie Van Noort finished first in the 1000 free, touching in 10:27.03, followed by
Megan Shaughnessy in second (10:34.04). GVSU went 1-2-3 in the 200 free as
Sam Postmus touched first in 1:53.84, while Van Noort was second (1:56.59) and
Kathryn Culver third (1:59.18).Â

Falconer touched third in the 100 back (59.75) and Gallaher finished third in the 100 breast. Goebel touched second in the 200 fly (2:10.22) and third in the 200 IM (2:11.65). Culver hit the wall third in the 100 free (55.00), followed by
Jenn Priebe in fourth (55.06). Postmus notched a second-place finish in the 200 IM (2:08.30) and finished third in the 200 back (2:05.74).Â
Gallagher added a second-place finish in the 200 breast (2:27.07).  Van Noort led a 1-2-3 finish in the 500 free when she touched first in 5:03.50. Goebel finished second (5:09.10) and Shaughnessy third (5:09.76). The Lakers went 1-2 in the 100 fly as
Hannah Richard touched first (57.84) and Falconer second (58.59). Â
Kayla Marquardt turned in a score of 239.55 on the 1-meter board to finished second, followed by another second-place finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 235.10.
GVSUÂ closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 free relay as Gallagher, Van Noort, Culver and Priebe touched in 3:35.73.Â
The Laker men touched first in the 400 medley relay as

Danny Abbott hit the wall first in 3:25.42.
Ben Walling turned in a third-place finish in the 200 free (1:43.36) and Shalamon finished third in the 100 back (52.81). Mikalauskas notched a second-place finish in the 100 breast (57.68), followed by
Tim Harris in third (57.98).Â
Walling and Abbott wend 2-3 in both the 50 and 100 free. Walling touched second in the 50 free (21.04) and Abbott hit the wall in third (21.27), while Walling added a second in the 100 free (46.15) and Abbott third (46.50).Â
Joseba Hidalgo Vilelia touched third in both the 200 back (1:52.52) and 200 IM (1:57.97), while Harris recorded a third-place finish in the 200 breast.
Michael Hudson touched second in the 500 free (4:42.58).Â
Souza crushed the NMU pool record in the 100 fly when he touched in 48.80, breaking the previous record of 50.07.Â
The Lakers went 1-2-3 on the 3-meter board as
Brad Dalrymple finished first with a of 332.70.
Jared Gregory was second (262.15) and
Joe Gucwa third (255.80). Darlrymple and Gregory went 1-2 on the 1-meter board with scores of 307.90 and 270.20.Â
GVSU closed with a second-place finish in the 400 free relay as Abbott, Souza,
Liam Little and Walling hit the wall in 3:04.70.
