The Grand Valley State men's and women's swimming & diving team swept a non-conference dual meet at Calvin College Saturday afternoon. The Laker men claimed a 225-74 win, while the women defeatd the Knights 211.5-85.5. The GVSU women also defeated Hillsdale in the women's tri-meet 218-68. GVSU will next be in action next Saturday in Marquette, Michigan versus Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State.
The Laker women opened with a win in the 200 medley relay as the team of Â

Emily Gallagher,
Hannah Richard and
Jenn Priebe hit the wall in 1:48.17.
Megan Shaughnessy won the 1000 free in 10:37.59, followed by
Sam Postmus in third (10:45.70).Â
Leonie Van Noort hit the wall first in the 200 free (1:56.80), while
Kathryn Culver touched second (1:59.47). GVSU went 1-1-2 in the 100 back, as Falconer and
Kaitlin Cassell tied for first (59.20), followed by Shaughnessy in third (1:01.87). Gallagher finished second in the 100 breast (1:06.06) and
Lauren Ryan touched fourth (1:09.53).Â
Melina Goebel won the 200 fly in 2:11.11, followed by
Emily Toro in third (2:18.77).Â
Kayla Marquardt won the 1-meter board with a score of 261.30, while Jessie Adams was third (242.45) and
Mikayla Karasek fourth 235.75). Marquardt was second on the 3-meter board (243.45).Â
Richard and Culver went 2-3 in the 100 free, touching in 55.13 and 55.22 respectively.Â
GVSU dominated the 200 back with a 1-2-3 finish. Van Noort finished first (2;06.94), Postmus second (2:07.43) and
Hailey Garlich third (2:11.72). The Lakers added another 1-3-4 finish in the 200 breast as Gallagher hit the wall first (2:25.64),
Lauren Ryan second (2:32.44) and
Celia Hoag fourth (2:32.66).Â
Goebel won the 500 free in 5:12.20 and Toro tied for third (5:23.21).Â
The Lakers added another sweep in the 100 fly with Falconer touching first (58.56), Richard second (59.91) and Cassell third (1:00.28). Postmus led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 IM when she touched first (2:07.5), followed by Goebel in second (2:11.78) and Toro in third (2:17.94).
The 400 free relay team of Van Noort, Culver, Shaughnessy and Priebe closed the meet with a first-place finish in 3:38.83.Â

Brien Moffitt won the 1000 free (10:07.56), while
Jonathan Loshinskie was second (10:28.20).
Michael Hudson led a 1-2 finish in the 200 free (1:44.50), followed by
Grant Borregard in second (1:46.08).Â
Shalamon won the 100 back (51.48) and
Ben Walling was third (53.55). Mikalauskas touched first in the 100 breast (56.50), while Garret McCormich touched third (1:01.08).Â
Jesus Morales added a win in the 200 fly (1:54.23), followed by Little in third (2:00.26).
Danny Abbott tallied a first-place finish in the 50 free (21.00) and
David Nunez was third (22.55).Â
Brad Dalrymple won the 1-meter board (300.20) and tied for first on the 3-meter (324.60).
Jared Gregory was second on the 3-meter with  a score of 272.20.Â
Abbott led a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 free (45.69), followed by Walling in second (46.68) and Little in third (48.74). Â Shalamon led another sweep in the 200 back (1:52.85), while Hudson was second (1:55.50) and
Tabor Smyth third (2:00.08). Nunez won the 200 breast (2:13.95), Borregard the 500 free (4:45.93) and 200 IM (1:57.50) and Mikalauskas the 100 free (51.97). The Lakers closed the afternoon with a win in the 400 free relay as Walling, Little, Ham and Abbott touched the wall in 3:07.69.Â
