Box Score Sophomore defender Shannon Quinn has received GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors this week, per a release from the conference office on Tuesday morning.
 
The Grand Rapids native was superb on defense in the Laker's final conference game on Friday, a shutout victory over Ferris State. The Lakers backline, led by Quinn, allowed just one shot on goal in notching the 12^th team shutout of the season. With the win, the Lakers finished the conference season 12-0. 
 
Quinn has started every game for a Laker's defense that has allowed just 7 goals in 17 games this season, including just one goal in conference matches. That mark ties the 2013 squad for fewest goals allowed in conference play in a season.
