Grand Valley State Falls at No. 5 Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Grand Valley State women's lacrosse fell to No. 5 Adelphi, 22-5, on Tuesday evening in Garden City, N.Y.

The Lakers drop to 2-4 on the season, while Adelphi improves to 8-0 overall. Grand Valley State stays in New York to face Queens on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Just like its game against Dowling, Grand Valley State once again got on the board first on a pass from sophomore Sarah Lowe to classmate Brooke Ingraham just 50 seconds into the game. Adelphi then went on an 8-0 run for an 8-1 score by the 13:55 mark.

Allyson Fritts then netted her team-high 16th goal of the season to end the stretch, but a 5-1 run made it a 12-3 score at the half. Sophomore Rachel Leibovitz netted the Lakers' goal at the 6:03 mark.

Adelphi opened the scoring with back-to-back nets out of the break before Jordan Luberto notched a goal with 25:41 left in the game. The Panthers then continued on its scoring streak with eight straight goals.

Sophomore Meagan Emery took a pass from Ingraham with 4:09 on the clock for the last score of the game.

Ingraham had a goal and an assist in the loss. Fritts grabbed a team-high seven draw controls that led to 13 for the game. Sophomore Audrey Kobe tallied 11 saves in the net.

Devan Crimi led Adelphi with six goals and three assists, while Rachel O'Brien tallied five. Jordan Dempsey made one save in her eighth win.
