TIFFIN, Ohio - The Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team overcame a two-goal deficit at the half to defeat Tiffin, 13-12, on Saturday afternoon at Frost Kanlow Stadium.

GVSU evens its record back to .500, with a 6-6 mark on the season, while Tiffin falls to 1-10 on the year. The Lakers now host Indiana Tech in a mid-week game on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Laker Lacrosse Stadium.

Freshman Brooke Ingraham (Rochester Hills, Mich.) had four goals on the day, while classmate Victoria Devine (Centereach, N.Y.) netted three.  Korinne Culley (Hilliard, Ohio) tallied two helpers for the Lakers.

Grand Valley State was able to take a 2-1 lead early in the game, but Tiffin knotted the score at 2-2 with 20 minutes left in the first. The game would tie two more times in the first before Alexandria Quast converted a free-position shot and Kaitlin Clarke scored to give the Dragons a 6-4 lead into the break.

Out of the half, Tiffin pushed its lead to 8-4 out of halftime, but a three-goal run by the Lakers pulled the score to within one, 8-7.

Quast converted another free-position shot, but the Lakers then went on a four-goal run to take their first lead of the game, 11-9, with 14 minutes left in the game.

Back-to-back nets from Quast tied the game again at 11, but GVSU went on a 3-0 run which would make the difference in the game.  Ingraham scored the game-winning goal with less than 10 to play in the game and Devine added the cushion that the Lakers would need as Tiffin tallied two goals to close out the game.

GVSU held a 34-20 edge in shots, while also boasting a 19-8 margin in draw controls. In the net for the Lakers, freshman Audrey Kobe (New Hudson, Mich.) had four saves, while Tiffin's Jessica Bombard tallied 16 saves in the loss.
