MIDLAND, Mich. - The No. 4 Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to No. 1 Northwood, 5-2, in the second round of the GLIAC Tournament at the Midland Community Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
GVSU closes out the season with an 11-14 record with the loss to Northwood. Northwood remains undefeated on the year at 14-0.
The Lakers were able to pick up two points in doubles competition to take a 2-1 lead. Senior Benny Delgado-Rochas paired with Bryan Hodges to win 8-5 in the No. 2 spot. In No. 3 doubles, senior Josh Kazdan and freshman John McDonald won 8-6.
Northwood was able to sweep through singles competition at the No. 2 through No. 5 spots to take the match. The No. 1 and No. 6 singles matches were not finished.
