Men's Tennis Falls to No. 46 Ferris State, 5-4

ALLENDALE, Mich. -  Falling behind 2-1 in doubles action, the Grand Valley State men's tennis team could not overcome the deficit as the Lakers fell 5-4 to No. 46 Ferris State in its final dual match of the season on Thursday afternoon at the GVSU Tennis Courts.

The Lakers fall to 10-11 on the season and 6-3 in GLIAC play.  GVSU will take part in the Grand Rapids CC and Davenport Invitational on Saturday, April 14 to close out the season before taking part in the GLIAC tournament.

Senior Benny Delgado-Rochas and partner sophomore Bryan Hodges picked up the Lakers' lone win in doubles play with an 8-5 victory in the No. 2 spot.

GVSU was able to pick up two wins in three sets from sophomore Andrew Darrell and Delgado-Rochas in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively.  Darrell defeated regionally-ranked Laurent Galarneau, 7-6 (4), 1-6, 10-7, while Delgado-Rochas beat Jack Swan, 6-2, 2-6, 10-7.

Senior Marc Roesslein was the only other Laker able to get a win as he down Steven Roberts, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
