Results

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The No. 24 Grand Valley State women's tennis team picked up a hard-fought match against Nova Southeastern, 5-4, on Thursday.  The Lakers also played Division I opponent Toldeo, falling 7-2.

The Lakers fell behind in doubles action against the Sharks with only Leah Dancz (Hudsonville, Mich.) and Allison Fecko (Grand Rapids, Mich.) picking up the lone point, 8-2, at the No. 2 spot.

In singles action, GVSU was able to come away with the win taking four singles points.  At the No. 3 spot, Dancz pulled out a 6-3, 6-4 win over Charlotte Cote.  Sophomore Lexi Rice (Augusta, Mich.) won, 6-4, 7-6, over Bianca Roberts in the No. 4 spot, while classmate Anne Marie Morin (Rochester Hills, Mich.) defeated Kamryn Blackwood, 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 5 spot.  Closing out the singles wins was freshman Kali Phillips (Harbor Springs, Mich.) who won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.

Grand Valley State picked up its two points versus Toldeo by default due to the Rockets having an incomplete lineup.

GVSU closes out its spring break trip against Southern New Hampshire and the Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday, March 9 beginning at 8 a.m.
