ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to Grand Rapids foe, Aquinas, 7-2, on a sunny Wednesday afternoon at the GVSU Tennis Courts.
The Lakers fall to 6-9 on the season as they continue conference play at Findlay on Friday, March 23 at 3 p.m.
GVSU was able to pick up one point in doubles competition as the duo of Josh Kazdan and John McDonald won 8-4 in the No. 3 spot. In No. 1 doubles, Andrew Darrell and Benny Delgado-Rochas were down just 5-4, before having to retire.
In singles action, Kazdan was able to come away with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kyle Masteller at No. 4 singles.
The Lakers are currently 2-1 in conference play and head into the bulk of conference play after their matches at Findlay and Tiffin. A mid-week match with Hope (March 28) starts a string of six straight home matches beginning on March 30 against Lake Erie.
