Women's Tennis Falls to Northwood, 7-2

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell to the top team in the GLIAC, Northwood, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Midland Community Tennis Center.

The Lakers drop to 7-2 on the year and in the GLIAC, while Northwood remains undefeated at 9-0.

Freshman Claire Cooper picked up a 6-4, 7-6 win in the fifth spot, while sophomore Kali Phillips won, 6-2, 6-4, in the No. 6 singles spot.

GVSU returns to the courts against Tiffin on Friday, Oct. 12 at 3:30 p.m. at the GVSU Tennis Courts.  The Lakers will then have two matches on Saturday against Ohio Dominican at 10 a.m. before traveling to Grand Rapids to play Davenport at 3:30 p.m.
