No. 15 Women's Tennis Downs Tiffin, 8-1

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The No. 15 Grand Valley State University women’s tennis team picked up another GLIAC win, downing visiting Tiffin, 8-1, on Saturday morning at the GVSU Tennis Courts.  The Lakers wrap up weekend play with a match against Wayne State on Sunday at 10 a.m.

GVSU improves to 2-0 on the season while Tiffin falls to 1-4.

The Lakers once again swept the doubles competition including a shut out in the No. 2 spot from the duo of senior Alyssa Lucas (Clarkston, Mich.) and junior Allison Fecko (Grand Rapids, Mich.).

Grand Valley State picked up points in all but the No. 1 singles spot as Malaika Messi defeating sophomore Niki Shipman (Saline, Mich.), 6-2, 6-4.  Fecko was also successful in singles competition as she defeated Nicole Ardner, 6-0, 6-0
