Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Laker men's tennis team swept Hope College and Calvin College on Thursday (Mar. 17) by scores of 8-1 and 9-0, respectively. GVSU beat Hope College at DeWitt Tennis Center in Holland, Mich. early in the day before traveling to Ramblewood to defeat Calvin in the first "home" dual match for the Lakers this season.
Andrew Darrell and Bryan Hodges each went 4-0 on the day as they teamed up for #2 doubles victories in both matches while Darrell took the #2 singles flight in each competition and Hodges was victorious in both #4 singles flights. Benny Delgado-Rochas won both of his #3 singles matches as well as his #3 doubles matches where he competed with Josh Kazdan. Kazdan also won both of his #5 singles flights. Trey Keating won both of his #6 singles matches and teamed with Marc Roesslein to win both #1 doubles flights on the day.
Philipp Claus took part in his first #1 singles flight of the season against Calvin and came out victorious by 6-2, 6-2 scores.
