Kristen Eible scored the lone marker in a 1-0 win over Findlay on Sept. 25 to keep Grand Valley State perfect during the 2009 season. The No. 4 Lakers (8-0-1, 4-0 GLIAC) blanked the Oilers for their sixth shutout of the season. GVSU returns home for their next match, Sept. 27 against Tiffin at 12 p.m.
Grand Valley State got on the scoredboard quick scoring in the first minute of the game. Just 0:44 into the match Eible took a cross from freshman Ashley Botts, knocking it in from 12 yards out. Eible scored her fourth goal of the season, while Botts recorded her second assist on the year.
Goalie Chelsea Parise only needed one save to record the shutout win, her sixth of the season. The Lakers' defense held the Oilers without a shot on goal through the entire second period to hold onto the 1-0 win, claiming their 32nd straight conference win.
GVSU dominated offensively outshooting them 23-2, including an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. Grand Valley State advances its record to 8-0-1, 4-0 GLIAC, while Findlay falls to 3-4-0, 2-2 GLIAC.
